Advanced Placement Statistics: Exam Details

The exam is of approximately three hours and contain two sections-multiple choice and free response. Each section of the exam comprises of 50% of the final exam grade.
Following topics will be covered in the exam:
- Exploring Data: Describe patterns and departures from patterns (20%-30%)
- Sampling and Experimentation: Plan and conduct a study (10%-15%)
- Anticipating Patterns: Explore random phenomena using probability and simulation (20%-30%)
- Statistical Inference: Estimate population parameters and testing of hypotheses (30%-40%)
Section I: Multiple Choice-40 Questions; 1 Hour and 30 Minutes
Total scores of the multiple-choice section will be based on the correct answers. Points are neither deducted for incorrect answers nor points are awarded for unanswered questions.
Section II: Free Response-6 Questions; 1 Hour and 30 Minutes
In this section, 5 questions will be there related to two or more various content areas through a response or solution to a statistics or probability problem
Investigative task may includes, demonstration of your understanding of a variety of topics, and your ability and skills to integrate statistical ideas and apply them in a new context or in an unusual manner.
You are required to bring a graphing calculator having statistical capabilities in the exam.
