AP US History Course Outline

In U. S History, AP program is designed in such a way to enhance the student's analytical skills and enduring understandings that are necessary to deal critically with the problems and materials in U. S history. The following program aims to prepare the students for intermediate as well as advanced college courses which is similar to those made by full-year courses introduced by the college. Students have an access to historical materials and their relevance to a given interpretive problem, their reliability as well as importance, the evidence and interpretations are weigh and presented in historical scholarship. AP United States History course therefore nurture the skills in the students necessary to reach at conclusions based on informed judgment and to present reason clearly and in convincing manner in the form of essays.

Along with the exploration of students to the historical content as quoted above, To train the students to analyse and interpret primary sources, that includes documentary materials, maps, statistical tables, and pictorial and graphic evidence of historical events, is also the aim of an AP couse. Students learn to prepare notes from both printed materials and lectures as well as discussions, write essay examinations and write analytical and research papers. The students should have the capability to express themselves with clarification and precision and know how to cite sources and ideas of others plus phrases credit.
