CAT is an all India level entrance test for management courses in reputed institute such as IIM. The Indian Institute of Management is going to conduct Common Admission Test 2016 in two sessions on 4th December 2016 for admission to the IIMs various management programmers and they are:

Eligibility

  • The candidates must have passed the graduation degree in any stream from recognized university with 50% or equivalent to CGPA and 45% for SC/ST and Differently Abled.
  • The candidates who are appearing in last year of graduation can also apply for the CAT 2016 but they have to clear the graduation in same year under the qualifying criteria.

  • Rs. 1700/- for general and NC/OBC category candidates.
  • Rs. 850/- for the SC/ST/Person with disability category candidates.

CAT 2016 Exam Pattern (NEW)

The CAT 2016 is a single paper exam and now the duration of exam is 180 minutes (previously it was 170 minutes).

The paper will include 100 question divided in 3 sections which are as below:

(In previous pattern it was only two sections: Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension)

  2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
  3. Quantitative Ability

  • The examination mode is online and most of the questions are multiple choice questions but some of them are direct in which choice of answer will not be provided.
  • There will be 3 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be minus for wrong answer, there will be no marks for questions that are not answered.

Note:

  • The exam will be conducted in 138 cities.
  • Candidates can select 4 Test Cities of their preference.
  • The registration fee can only played by online mode (Credit Card, Debit Card, and Net Banking).
