CSIR-UGC (NET) Exam for Award of Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lecturership shall be a Single Paper Test will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions. The question paper will be categorised into three main parts-

Part ‘A’

This part will comprise of 20 questions pertaining to General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude. A candidate needs to answer any of the 15 questions. Each question will carry two marks. The aggregate marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.

Part ‘B’

This part will comprise of 50 Multiple Choice Questions, which basically cover all the topics mentioned in the syllabus. A candidate needs to answer any of the 35 questions. Each question will carry two marks. The aggregate marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200.

Part ‘C’

  • This part will comprise of 75 questions that are aimed to test the candidate՚s knowledge of scientific concepts and application of the scientific concepts. Questions shall be analytical in nature, A candidate needs to use the scientific knowledge to get at the solution to the given scientific problem. A candidate needs to answer any of the 25 questions. Each question will carry four marks. The aggregate marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200.
  • Negative marking will be there at the rate of 25% for every wrong answer.
  • The question paper booklet shall be distributed 15 minutes before the decided time of the exam, So that the candidates can go through with the question paper. However, The Answer sheet shall be given at the decided time of the exam.
  • When the exam get over i.e. … At the scheduled closing time of the exam, the candidates shall take the Question Paper Booklet with them but no candidate can take the Question Paper Booklet outside, If in case he or she chooses to leave the test before the closing time.
