From June, 2011 CSIR-UGC (NET) Exam for Award of Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lecturership shall be a Single Paper Test comprising of Multiple Choice Questions. The question paper will be categorised into three main parts-

Part ‘A’

This part will consist of 20 questions pertaining to General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude. A candidate needs to answer any of the 15 questions. Each question will carry two marks. The aggregate marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.

Part ‘B’

This part will consist of 50 Multiple Choice Questions, It basically cover all the topics mentioned in the syllabus. A candidate needs to answer any of the 35 questions. Each question will carry two marks. The aggregate marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200.

Part ‘C’

This part will consist of 80 questions that are aimed to test a candidate՚s knowledge of scientific basics and application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be analytical in nature, where a candidate has to use the scientific knowledge to get the solution to the given scientific problem. A candidate needs to answer any of the 25 questions. Each question will carry 4 marks. The aggregate marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200.

  • For Part ‘A’ and ‘B’ Negative marking will be there at rate of 25% for each wrong answer marked. However, Negative marking for Part ‘C’ shall be@33% for each wrong answer marked.
  • The question paper booklet shall be distributed 15 minutes before the decided time of the exam, So that the candidates can go through with the questions once. However, The Answer sheet shall be given at the decided time of the exam.
  • As the examination get over i.e. … At the scheduled closing time of the exam, the candidates can take the Question Paper Booklet with them. No candidate is allowed to take the Question Paper Booklet, If in case he or she chooses to move out and leave the test before the closing time.
