Amitav Ghosh among the 10 finalists shortlisted for 2015 Man Booker International Prize [ Current Affairs ]
Indian author Amitav Ghosh was shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize 2015. Author Amitav Ghos is the only Indian among the 10 finalists shortlisted for the prize and his age is 56 years old.
At present, Amitav Ghosh was shortlisted for his contribution to the English language writing. In 2008, he was selected for the prize his work Sea of Poppies but he missed the prize narrowly.
The name of the 10 finalists was shortlisted at the University of Cape Town in South Africa by writer and academic Professor Marina Warner, chair of the five-person judging panel.

Man Booker International Prize will be given to the winner on 19 May 2015 in London.
In 2005, The International Man Booker Prize was introduce every two years to a living author who has published fiction either originally in English or whose work is generally available in translation in the English language.
It receives to winner cash prize of 60000 pounds and is given in recognition of the writer’s body of work. In 2005, Ismail Kadare of Albania was the first winner of the award and Lydia Davis of the United States was the last recipient of the award in 2013.
