Broad coalition of nations has announced adaptation of Paris Pact on Water and Climate Change, river basin organizations, business and civil societies from across the globe. In 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, Conference of Parties (COP-21) held at Le Bourget, Paris, France it was announced.

Under the Lima to Paris Action Agenda (LPAA) on climate change this declaration was made as part of the Water Resilience Focus event.

Paris Pact on water and climate change adaptation

  • The main aim of Paris Pact on water and climate change adaptation to make water systems which are very foundation and supportable to human development more strongly for the impacts of weather change.
  • It includes governments, local governments, funding agencies, companies and civil society as well as wide geographic alliance of national and cross-border river basin organizations.
  • To make river basins, aquifers, lakes and deltas more strong to climate change and reduce human interference with oceans it highlights other important partnerships and coalitions.
  • To implement adaptation plans, strengthening water monitoring and measurement systems in river basins it also include individual commitments.
  • It also focuses on supporting financial sustainability and new investment in water systems management.
  • Practically all countries have signed it and also have dedicated above one billion dollars.
  • To build climate resilience through better groundwater management India has also agreed to contribute 20 million dollars.
