China Successfully Tests 5th Generation Long March Carrier Rocket

About China՚s rocket launch: China launched its first satellite, which was known as Dong Fang Hong 1 into Earth orbit on its Long March space rocket on April 24,1970 by this china became the fifth nation to achieve independent launch capability.

  • Long March-5 can carry the capacity of twice of the payload compared to other present carriers of China which is 25000 kg LEO (Low Earth Orbit) and 14000 kg GTO (Geostationary Transfer Orbit) .
  • Long March-5 is scheduled for flight in 2016 and its capacity will be equivalent to that of ordinary carrier rockets presently used around the world.
