India signs MoU with Slovak Republic for technical support in Railway Sector [ Current Affairs ]

About Slovak Republic: The Slovak Republic also known as the Slovak State which was a client state of Nazi Germany and was existed between 14th March 1939 and 4th April 1945. It controlled the majority of the area of existing Slovakia, but without its current southern and eastern parts, which then formed as part of Hungary.

About agreement:

  • India and Slovak Republic have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on technical support in railway sector.
  • The MoU was signed between Union Ministry of Railways of India and the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic.
  • The MoU signed in New Delhi by Ganga Ram Agarwal who is Secretary of Railway Board and Zigmund Bertok who is Ambassador of Slovak Republic to India.
  • The MoU is renewable types so after completion of its two years valid term of this agreement it will be renewed automatically for further two years.

About supportive areas declared in MoU:

  • They will support each other in infrastructure buildings, railways stations development as well as management and plants renovation.
  • They will also help each other by improving ways in information & communication technologies to passenger facilities.
  • Upgrading of regular routine and Signaling & Telecom.
