Indian boxers won three Gold at World Junior Women’s boxing Championship [ Current Affairs ]
Indian boxers won three Gold medals and two silver medals at World Junior Women’s boxing Championship at Taipei in Taiwan. Gold medal winners are- Savita won gold medal in 50kg- She defeated her Ukrainian rival, Kateryna Rohova 2-1 to clinch gold for India. Mandeep Sandhu won (52kg)- Mandeep’s 3-0 triumph over Ireland’s. Sakshi (54kg) - Niamh Earley before Sakshi made it three in a row by out-punching American Yarisel Ramirez 3-0.
The silver medal winner are- Soniya clinche (48kg)- she was the first to take the ring for India by defeating American Heaven Garcia. She went down 1-2 to open the Indian account with a silver medal. Niharika Gonella (70kg) settled for silver medals- she Niharika proved no match for Russian Anastasiia Sigaeva and lost 0-3 to settle for a silver medal.
