Reoti Saran Sharma a well-known Hindi and Urdu writer, playwright, and television personality took his last breath in New Delhi at the age of 92 years.He was the first person to write plays for All India Radio (AIR).

About Reoti Saran Sharma

  • Penned more than 150 radio plays at the AIR. Some of his famous plays were translated into regional languages.

Some of his well-known plays are:

  1. Deepshika
  2. Na Dharam Na Iman
  3. Andehere ka Beta

Created many memorable television serials including:

  1. Adhikaar
  2. Phir Wahi Talaash
  3. Aur Bhi Gam Hain Zamane Mein
  4. Lena-Dena
  5. The Great Maratha
  • Contributed extensively to the theatre (dramatic literature and performance). He was awarded with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2007 and the Ghalib Award.
