India՚s First Ayurvedic Anti-Diabetic Drug “Bgr-34” Has Been Launched

India՚s first anti-diabetic Ayurvedic drug “BGR-34” has been launched by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for type two Diabetes mellitus. BGR-34 stands for Blood Glucost Supervisor and proposed effective, safe, patient-friendly solution for dealing with type two Diabetes.

About BGR-34:

  • The Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) and Central Institute for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) and CSIR institutes based in Lucknow have jointly make efforts to develop this Drug.
  • It is made up of 34 identified active phyto-constitutes from herbal resources and works with controlling blood sugar and regulating the harmful effects of other modern drugs.
  • CSIR has shifted the rights and technical details to AIMIL Pharmaceuticals (I) Ltds due to quality commercial production and extended distribution of drug.

About Type two Diabetes:

  • “Type two Diabetes is a metabolic disorder that is characterized by high blood sugar in the context of insulin confrontation and comparative lack of insulin.”
  • And in type one diabetes; there is an absolute lack of insulin due to breakdown of islet cells in the pancreas.
  • There are 90% cases of type 2 diabetes observed out of 100, while 10% cases are observed for type one diabetes.
  • Type 2 diabetes is primarily managed by increasing exercise and nutritional changes.
  • Since 1960 rates of type two diabetes have increased noticeably in parallel with obesity.
  • According to report 285 million peoples are suffering from type two diabetes in 2010 compared to 30 million in 1985.
