Reservation Bill Has Been Passed by Haryana Assembly Unanimously [ Current Affairs ]

The Haryana Backward Classes (Reservation in services and admission in educational institutions) Bill, 2016 has been passed by the Haryana Parliamentary Assembly unanimously. Key Provisions: The bill aims to offer reservation in various fields like services and admission in educational institutions to persons belonging to backward classes containing Jats and five other castes and they are:

  • Jats
  • Jat Sikhs
  • Ror
  • Bishnoi
  • Tyagi
  • Mulla/Muslim

And regarding to this the backward classes are divided into three blocks such as

  • Block A
  • Block B
  • Block C

Jats are included in the Block C.

10 % reservation is provided for class III and class IV posts and 6 % in class 1 and class 2 posts.

These castes have 10 % reservation for admission in educational institutions.

State Parliamentary Assembly also has passed Haryana Backward Classes Commission Bill, 2016 for association of a permanent Backward Classes Commission.
