Sugamya Pustakalaya is an online library which provides accessibility of content for Divyang and houses publications across various subjects and languages and multiple manageable formats.
E-Library is developed with the collaboration of National Institute of Visually Handicapped (NIVH) , member organizations of Daisy Forum of India and Bookshare and driven by TCS Access.
The E-Library is containing books in accessible formats for people with visual impairment and other print disabilities.
It will also merge with the libraries across India and the Globe, including the largest international library Bookshare.
National Institute of Visually Handicapped (NIVH) :
NIVH is a premier Institute is working in the field of visual disability under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
It mainly works for promoting the rights and dignity of persons with visual impairments.
Union Minister for Welfare has founded it on 9th October 1988.
Its regional center is located in Chennai.
It aims to make more landscapes opportunities for visually disabled persons.
