About Sunway TaihuLight

  • The China’s National Research Centre of Parallel Computer Engineering and Technology (NRCPC) have developed the Sunway TaihuLight.
  • It has been built completely by processors designed and made in China.
  • It has capacity to perform 93 quadrillions calculations per second.
  • The main aim of it is to use it in research and engineering fields such as climate, weather, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and data analytic.

Note: One petaflops is equal to one quadrillion sustained floating point operations per second.
