IES examination to be held on 12th June 2015 - Preparation Tips [ IES Updates ]

The IES examination will be conducted on 12th June 2015. The forms will be released on 14th March 2015 & the last date to submit the forms is 10th April 2015, with just few months left, here are some of the must to remember points before you appear for IES exam:

  • Lots and lots of practice material and books are available at the given link for IES Book list.
  • Try to answer the question in neat and eligible handwriting for conventional paper
  • Make notes that you can revise at the last moment
  • Age criteria for IES Exam: The candidate must be between 21-30 years as on 1 January (for general candidates) of the year they are taking the exam. The upper limit is relaxed for certain sections of the candidates.

  • IES Exam centers: Ahmedabad, Agartala, Aizwal, Aligarh, Allahabad, Bhopal, Bangalore, Bareilly, Chennai, Cuttack, Chandigarh, Delhi, Dharwad, Dehradun, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji (Goa), Patna, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Tirupati, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Vishakapatnam.

IES Exam Pattern

Total marks: 1,200 includes written test followed by a personal interview.

Written test has Total of 1000 marks and includes Descriptive and objective questions, exam occurs for 3 days

  • Paper - I - Objective - General Ability Test and Part A: General English - 200 - Day - 1 & 2 hours
  • Paper - II - Objective - Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering - 200 - Day - 2 & 2 hours
  • Paper - III - Objective - Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering - 200 - Day - 2 & 2 hours
  • Paper - IV - Objective - General Ability Test - 200 - 2 hours
  • Paper - V - Conventional (Subjective) - Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Part A: General English - 200 - Day - 3 & 2 hours
  • Total - Conventional (Subjective) - Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering - 200 - Day - 3 & 2 hours
