PRAXIS II Elementary Education: Content Area Exercises Exam

The exam is consists of 4 essay questions and two hours will be given to complete it. The questions will test your ability to handle complicated situations in the elementary school setting. One question will be there from each of the following areas: Science and Social Studies, Mathematics, Reading & Language Arts and Interdisciplinary Instruction. Each question comprises 25% of the final grade.

Praxis II Elementary Education Content Knowledge Exam

The exam is consists of 120 MCQ and two hours will be given to complete it. Usage of a 4 functions or scientific calculator is allowed for this exam. This test was being formed for the potential teachers of primary through upper middle school. There will be 25 questions based on Language Arts, 25 on Mathematics, 25 on Social Studies and, 25 on Science.

Language Arts: This section aims to test your knowledge of communication skills, language in writing, reading instruction, literacy acquisition, test organization and structure for reading and writing and understanding literature.

Mathematics: This section aims to test your knowledge of algebra, numeration, critical thinking processes, measurement, geometry, data organization and interpretation.

Social Studies: This section aims to test your knowledge of economics, sociology, anthropology, psychology, political science, American history, world history and, geography. The economic segment will include major economic concepts, government role in economics, impact of the economic market on populations and resources; and international economics. The sociology, anthropology and psychology segment of the exam will include human growth, development and behavior; socialization, ethnic groups, cultural changes and kinship patterns. The political science segment of the exam will include state and local government, rights and responsibilities'of citizens, forms and purposes of government, and the U. S Constitution. The American history segment of the exam will include development and transformation of the 20th-century; the American Revolution and founding of our nation, growth of the republic and European exploration and colonization. The world history segment of the exam will include early civilizations, cross-cultural comparisons and rise and expansion of Europe.

Science: This section aims to test your knowledge of unifying processes, the history of nature science, science and personal and social perspectives, sciences enquiry, physical science, life science and earth science. The unifying processes segment of the exam will include structure and function models, systems, order systems organization and cycles and equilibrium. The history and nature of science segment of the exam will include science as a career, science as a process and historical perspectives of science. The science, personal and social perspectives segment of the exam will include personal health, science, technology and society. The science as enquiry segment of the exam will include planning and conducting simple investigations, the collection and organization of scientific data, using data to draw rational conclusions and proper questioning techniques. The physical science segment of the exam will include the structure and property of matter and the inter-action of energy and matter. The life science segment of the exam will include biological evolution, reproduction and heredity and the structure and function of living systems. The earth science segment of the exam will include the universe, history and structure of the earth.

Praxis II Elementary Education Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Exam

The exam is aimed for those individuals who are potential elementary education instructors. Two hours will be provided, to complete 110 multiple-choice questions. There are around 38 questions including reading and language arts, 22 questions including mathematics, 11 questions including science, 11 questions including social studies, 11 questions including physical education and 17 questions including curriculum instruction and student assessment.

Reading in Language Arts and Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of informal and formal student assessments, the writing process, writing instruction, the reading process, reading instruction, phonics, language acquisition and parts of an effective reading curriculum.

Mathematics Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: This section will test knowledge of student mathematical assessment, problem-solving, geometric concepts, measurement, probability and statistics, calculator and computer usage, number theory and concepts, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction, basic numeration, free math skills and the parts of an effective mathematical curriculum.

Science Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of fundamental principles of health education, analysis of students work, model building and computer simulations, student usage of technology, scientific concepts and processes, utilization of sciences enquiry and development of ideas and explanations.

Social Studies Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of history, geography, map skills, government, economics, social organization and human behavior and society.

Arts and Physical Education Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of the implementation of appropriate and proper physical education curriculum, fundamental concepts of music and art, basic concepts of physical education instruction, teaching strategies to motivate creativity and; examine student progress in art, music and physical education.

General Information about Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of classroom management, student evaluation, student instruction, learning theories, knowledge of the social and emotional development of children, professional growth, professional development and; selection of proper and effective elementary school curriculum.

Praxis II Elementary Education Curriculum Instruction and Assessment K − 5 Exam

The exam is aimed for those individuals who would like to teach grades K − 5. It comprises of 120 MCQ and two hours will be provided for the same. There are around 18 questions pertaining to curriculum instruction and assessment, 12 regarding art and physical education, 12 regarding social studies, 12 regarding science, 24 regarding mathematics and 42 regarding reading and language arts.

Reading and Language Arts Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge on formal and informal assessment, adjusting instruction to meet student needs, the development of listening writing and spelling skills and parts of a balanced reading curriculum.

Mathematics Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of probability and statistics, measurements, geometry, calculator and computer usage, problem-solving skills, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, basic numeration, pre numbers skills and the parts of an effective mathematical curriculum.

Science Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of fundamental components of health education, informal and formal student assessments, forecasting and model building, use of materials and technology, using scientific enquiry to enhance ideas and explanations and the understanding of scientific processes.

Social Studies Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of history, geography, map skills, communication, transportation, industrialization, economics, student development of organizational skills, problem-solving skills, classroom management, forecasting skills and decision-making skills.

Arts and Physical Education Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: This section will test your knowledge of fundamental concepts of music, art, basic concepts of physical education, teaching of healthy lifestyles, encouraging creativity in young children and the ability to use age-appropriate curriculum and teaching strategies and methods.
