International English Olympiad (IEO)

The IEO (International English Olympiad) is the only and the first of its kind exam which is conducted for the English language testing in India. The examination paper has three sections consisting of total 50 questions. This is to be attempted within 60 minutes. The first section consists of 25 questions which is of Word and Structure Knowledge, second section of Reading consists of 15 questions, and third section of Spoken and Written Expression consists of 10 questions. Each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type and the answers are to be written in an OMR sheet. Students from all classes 1 − 12 can appear for the exam. The result sheet states an English Quotient (EQ) of the student, also gives their Score, School Rank, City Rank, State Rank, International Rank and Percentile, as well as a Certificate of Participation. SOF also gives a report of performance of the schools and provides the schools with School English Quotient (SEQ). A School English Scholar Medal is awarded to every class topper in each participating school. However there should be minimum 10 participants from the school. The respective school of each student with International Rank from 1 − 3 (both inclusive) is awarded an English Intellect Trophy (EIT) for having the winning students on their rolls.
