SSC Combined Graduate Level Selection Procedure

Staff Selection Commission will organise Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2013 for recruitment to different posts. Graduation from a well reputed University is the minimum Qualification that is being required for the examination. Deserving eligible candidates can apply for the posts in February 2016.

SSC graduate level recruitment will be completed in 3 phases. CGl 2013 recruitment categorized in two groups. First group for which interview test will be organised and for 2nd group post their will be no interview test will be organised. For example, an interview cum personality test will be organised for assistant post in various department, inspector of income tax/central excise/preventive officer/examiner/Post/narcotics, CBI SI, Divisional accountant, statistical Investigator Grade II. Pay grade of mostly posts are 4600 and 4200. Non interview post are auditor, accountant junior accountant, UDC, Tax assistant, Complier. For now interview post Grade pay will be 2800 and 2400.

Selection procedure for combined graduate level recruitment is stated below-

  • CGL Tier 1: First of all CGL tier 1 exam will be organised for all candidates. Tier 1 will be organised for the sake of larger no of applicants.
  • CGL tier 2: Graduate level mains exam is also known as TIER II exam. Questions will be of objective type.
  • CGL Tier 3: This tier is also called personality test or interview test i.e.. CPT test/skill test/document verification and other test will be organised as per as demand of various different post.

Those candidates who will qualify in tier 1 exam are further eligible to appear in tier 2 exam, And those candidates who will qualify in tier 2 will be call for tier 3. However, we know that tier 1 exam organised just for screening purpose but the final merit will be made by adding the marks of CGL tier 1 and CGL tier 2 marks. An interview test of 100 marks will be organised for wherever applicable.

    Typing Test is required for CSS and Tax Assistant post only. Students are considered for other posts if they fail to qualify the typing test but have qualified Interview and non-Interview posts.
    For those who qualified only for Tax Assistant passing typing test is a must.
    For candidates who have already given CPT are not required to separately appear for Typing Test since the Module 1 performance is considered towards Tax Assistant post.

    Interview is a part of SSC. If you score very good marks in theory examination and comparative less in interview you can still make through the merit. Therefore it is important to understand that you are good at theory and aim to score very good marks in theory exam.

    CBN Officers works under Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC) which comes under Union Ministry of Finance. Therefore the physical standards will be same to that of the SSC Indian Customs and Central Excise Department. The physical requirements for inspectors and sub-inspectors is Height of 165 cms for men and 150 cms for women. Height relaxable for Hill men and Tribals is for 5 cms. Chest requirement is 76 cms with expansion (There shall be no such requirement in case of female candidates), Vision with or without glasses should be 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye for Distant vision and 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other for near vision.

    If you cleared List-III (3) and List-IV (4), you will have to give DEST/Document verification. If you cleared for Interview in List-I (1) and List-II (2) , then you will have to give interview only once. If you cleared in more than one list, then you must appear in the Skill Test (DEST) only once. If you cleared List-I and opted for Assistant in CSS, then you will have to appear for computer proficiency test.

As you mentioned you can apply for compilers the eligibility is One Leg (OL) ,One Arm (OA), Partially Deaf (PD).     For SSC CGL bachelors degree from a recognized university is a must. For SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) exam, you must have passed 12th board from a recognized board or university.

    SSC CGL tier 2 comprises of three different papers (all MCQ based) depending upon the post you have applied for. Paper I tests Quantitative ability, Paper II tests understanding over English language. If you have applied for the post of Statistical Investigators Grade II and Compilers, then there is an additional paper on Statistics. You must get good score in all 2 or 3 (whatsoever applicable) papers.
