Introduction

Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism Research Scholarships are awarded by the Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism, an autonomous research organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The institute established in 1971, situated in Mumbai and was earlier known as the Colaba-Alibag Observatories, part of the India Meteorological Department. Details of Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism Research Scholarships

The Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism invites applications from research scholars for pursuing doctoral programs in Geomagnetism and allied fields. Selected candidates are required to pursue research work at Mumbai or at any other center of the Institute during which time they are paid a scholarship of Rs. 8000/-per month i.e.. Consolidated for first and second years and Rs. 9000/-per month in the upcoming years. An additional book grant of Rs. 6000/-per annum is provided to the students registered for PHD Advertisements for the Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism Research Scholarships are published in the Employment News in the month of April.

Eligibility criteria for Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism Research Scholarships

For application to the Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism Research Scholarships, candidates having an MSC/MSc (Tech) in Physics/Applied Physics/Geophysics/Applied Mathematics with atlest 60% marks throughout and Physics as a subject in BSC are eligible. The maximum age limit for application is 28 years.

Selection Procedure for Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism Research Scholarships

Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism Research Scholarships will be given to candidates who have enrolled themselves in any one of the various research programs at the Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism. Selections to the doctoral programs are made on the basis of a written test at the Institute in Mumbai followed by personal interview. Candidates cleared the NET/SET/GATE/JRF of CSIR/CBSE-NET examination in subject code 2 (Earth Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences) or subject code-5 (Physical Sciences) will be called for the interview directly. Candidates qualified in the above examinations should attach a photocopy of the examination result with their application.

For application to the Indian Institute Of Geomagnetism Research Scholarships, candidates have submit a plain paper and giving name, age, address and detailed academic record (10th Standard onwards) along with subject, percentage, university and year of passing and attested copies of certificates/degrees, so as to reach the Registrar within one month of the publication of the advertisement. To and from second-class train fare by the shortest route will be paid to outstation candidates for attending the test or interview.
