The Paul Foundation Scholarships


The Paul Foundation Scholarships are headed by the Paul Foundation, established in the year 2001 by the Apeejay Surrendra Group as a window of opportunity for young scholars desperately want to pursue intellectual excellence through academic pursuit of higher studies in India or abroad. The Paul Foundation offers scholarships to the Indian people who have the ability in their areas of interest, giving them an opportunity to develop their potential and be known as leaders.

The key aim of The Paul Foundation Scholarships is to enrich outstanding scholars who have shown ability and intellectual excellence to cultivate thoughtful and thought-provoking work and who can in turn make a devotion to make a legendary difference in the society.


The Paul Foundation Scholarships are open for academic courses aimed to build learning and knowledge society. The choice of subjects is diverse, but not all-inclusive. Advertisements inviting applications for The Paul Foundation Scholarships are made in leading newspapers every year in the month of November. The scholarships are open to students pursuing Post graduate or Doctoral studies and Diploma and Short Term courses that fits in with the ideology of the organization as enunciated in its vision statement. Given the expense of studying overseas or even at the renowned institutions in India which could be unaffordable for some of the best and the brightest students, TPF provides scholarships up to a maximum of Rs. 15 lakhs per year per student. The Paul Foundation Scholarships helps scholars in the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences, Basic Sciences, Applied Sciences, Law, Management, Medicine, Engineering, Fine Arts and the Performing Arts, like New Media Art.

Eligibility criteria

In case for applying to The Paul Foundation Scholarships, candidates must need to hold a first class degree in all their previous qualifying examinations at the undergraduate or post graduate levels and must have submitted their applications to the universities of their choice at the time of applying to The Paul Foundation. Such candidates are required to file proofs of their confirmed admission before they are interviewed by the selection committee. Candidates must be below 30 years of age and should be a resident of India. As a merit-cum-means grant the Foundation requires the applicant to submit duly authorized certified proof of family income at the time of application.

Selection Procedure

Candidate applying for the Paul Foundation Scholarships need to submit the duly filled-in Application forms of the Foundation with detailed official record of the applicant's academic achievements and Letter of application, along with receipt or acknowledgement for admission to a course of study in top ranked universities, institutes or centers in India or overseas. Along with the outstanding academic records, a 2000 word essay which is a statement of purpose, based on the applicant's understanding of his or her subject and a 300 word personal profile is required to be submitted by the applicant based on which his or her academic potential will be judged. The final interviews will take place in June-July every year. All applicants must be available for interviews in India. Candidates who do not receive any communication need to understand that their application are being unsuccessful.
