Polity Study Material: National Emblem

National Emblem

The emblem of the Government of India is a reproduction of the Ashoka's Pillar at Sarnath. It shows three standing lions at a base having a Dharma Chakra in the centre, a bull on the right and a horse to the left. The words “Satyameva Jayate” taken from Mundaka Upanishad, meaning ‘’ Truth Alone Triumphs", are inscribed in Devnagari at the bottom.
