Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar

Initially established in 1987 as a regional engineering college, Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NITJ) made its way to getting the status of Deemed University on 17th October, 2002. This status was conferred upon it by the Govt. Of India (Ministry of Human Resource Development). It is working relentlessly for strengthening India's Technical manpower. The institute is able to get this aim fulfilled hue to the efforts of Dr. Moin Uddin, who is the present director of the institute and Dr. A L Sangal who is the present Registrar.

Admission Procedures at National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar

  1. UG Programs: Admissions is available to UG programs on the basis of ranks obtained in AIEEE. The minimum qualification required is a pass in 10 + 2 exam with science stream. Of the total seats available, 50% seats are reserved for students of Punjab, rest 50% is for students of other states.

  2. PG Programs: Various M. Tech courses like M Tech by Research for Regular Candidates, M Tech by Research for Internal Candidates, M Tech by Research for External Candidates, M Tech by Research for Staff under Projects, are offered by NITJ. For these courses, admission is based on valid scores in GATE along with minimum 60% in graduation.

  3. Ph. D Programs: Several Ph. D programs like, Ph D Programs for Regular Candidates, Ph D Programs for Internal Candidates, Ph D Programs for External Candidates, Ph D Programs for Staff under Projects are offered by the institute. The candidate must have a master's degree in respective area in which he wants to avail the degree with a minimum of 60% marks in PG and a valid GATE score.
