DU Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Science for Women

Introduction

Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Science for Women was set up mainly with an aim to inspire and provide women with higher education. Associated to the Delhi University, this college offers a wide but unique blend of range of professional courses which includes undergraduate courses.

Courses Offered

The Rajguru College of Applied Science for Women offers degree programs in professional disciplines namely Electronics, Food Technology, Instrumentation, Computer Science and Biomedical Sciences. The academic session begins in July every year. The courses are:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science Electronics (Hons.)

  • Bachelor of Applied Science Instrumentation (Hons.)

  • Bachelor of Applied Science Food Technology (Hons.)

  • Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.)

  • Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons)

  • One important attribute which the college has provided is it has started with a local CISCO Networking Academy, which is the only of its kind in the city. Students can go for add-on certificate courses at normal costs to receive the CCNA certification from this academy.

Eligibility

  1. Age: Minimum required age is 17 years for admission. However flexibility to the criteria can be availed if the Vice Chancellor relaxes the age limit up to a maximum of one year in special cases.

  2. Academic Qualification: The candidate must have cleared the Senior School Certificate Examinations (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or equivalent with specified subjects.

How to apply

Admission form are available on weekdays between 10.00 A. M and 1.00 P. M. It can be bought from the college office or can be demanded by post addressed to the Principal, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Woman, Jilmil Colony, Vivak Vihar, Delhi 110095. Additional form can also be bought. Forms requested by post should bear a self addressed envelop (10 X 8).

Documents while submission

  1. Character Certificate from the last attended institute.

  2. Birth Certificate.

  3. Mark-sheet of last examination.

  4. Provisional Certificate of last examination.

  5. Certificate in case the candidate belonging to reserved categories.

  6. A duly attested recent passport size photograph.

Reservation of Seats

  1. 22.5% seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates (SC-15%, ST-7.5%)

  2. 5% seats are reserved for children/windows of armed personnel killed in action during the hostilities.

  3. 3% seats for the physically Handicapped Candidate are kept aside.

Procedure

  1. B. A. Sc (Hons.) Courses: Merit based selection is done followed by a counseling/interaction session. Selection Criteria:

    1. Electronics: 10 + 2 with PCM subjects scoring atleast 60% marks

    2. Instrumentation: 10 + 2 with PCM/PCB as subjects with minimum requirement of 60% marks

    3. Food Technology: PCM/PCB as subjects in 10 + 2 examination with atleast 60% marks

    Candidates must have studied chemistry, physics and mathematics at the 12th class level. Non-biology student will have to study General biology in their 1st year.

  2. BSc (Hons.) Computer Science: Candidate must have a pass in Senior School Certificate Examination (XII) with Mathematics, from CBSE Board or equivalent in Arts/Commerce/Science.

    1. 60% or more marks in Mathematics

    2. 55% or more marks in aggregate
