Those, applying for the LLM program should have completed graduation degree in law. Apart from the educational qualification, the eligibility of AILET is expressed in terms of minimum marks, age limits etc. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET (Total number of seats may vary) . It is necessary for candidates to comply with below mentioned eligibility criteria seeking admission to Ph. D. course.

UG Law Course

  • Candidates appearing for the qualifying exams are also eligible.
  • Candidates passed in Class 12th or SSC examination or equivalent with minimum 50% marks.

PG Law Course

  • Candidates appearing for their final year LLB examinations are also eligible.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need to secure at least 50% marks in the final year of the LLB degree.

PhD Course

  • Candidates holding an LLM degree from any recognised university
  • They should have secured at least 55% marks in the qualifying degree examination.
  • However, if belonging to SC/ST categories then the qualifying marks are 50% at least.
  • Candidates who have worked as a State High Court Judge in India for at least three years or Judge at Supreme Court of India.
  • Candidates who have completed a degree in law and a PhD in any discipline.

Reservation Criteria

15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 5% for Persons with Disabilities reservation is marked for candidates. One additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants.
