Advanced Placement Calculus AB: Exam Details

The exam is approximately of three hours and 15 minutes and it has two sections-multiple choice and free response. Each section comprises of 50% of the final exam grade.

Section I: Multiple Choice-45 Questions; 1 Hour and 45 Minutes

This section aims to test your knowledge and proficiency on a wide range of topics.

Part A-28 questions; 55 minutes (no calculator)

Part B-17 questions; 50 minutes (graphing calculator permitted)

Total scores of the multiple-choice section will rely on the number of correct answers. Neither points are deducted for incorrect answers and nor points are awarded for unanswered questions.

Section II: Free Response-6 Questions; 1 Hour and 30 Minutes

Part A-2 problems; 30 minutes (graphing calculator permitted)

Part B-4 problems; 1 hour (no calculator)

The free response section aims to test your ability and skills of problem solving using an extended chain of reasoning. You are permitted to work on problems of part A While doing the second portion of the free-response section (Part B) , but you are not allowed to use the calculator.
