Dr. Jain served as visiting professor at Gujarat University. Earlier she was serving in the Planning Department, City of Hillsboro, Hillsboro, Oregon, USA with focus on application of GIS for Downtown Development and Renewal. She completed her fellowship in Community-focused Urban Development from Colorado State University, Colorado, USA.

At Examrace, in addition to her technical focus, Dr. Jain is also a big proponent of using the newer technologies to achieve the goal of "education for everyone". She has been guiding and teaching geography and psychology for last several years. She is highly sympathetic to the plight of young aspirants especially those hailing from rural India and firmly believes that technology would be the key to providing everyone with access to quality education.

She topped MA in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and completed her doctorate on the analysis of Urban Sprawl and Development of Udaipur (Rajasthan, India). Her doctorate thesis is referred globally by several students and researchers working on urban development (her papers have more than 40 citations). Her book "GIS and Remote Sensing Techniques" has been reviewed in GIS India & Vector1Media; and citied in several academic works including thesis at University of Manchester and Urban Development Authority at Sri Lanka.

Her work has been published in several major national and international forums including Journal of Social Anthropology, Chinese Business Review, North American Regional Science Council, 31st Annual Applied Geography Conference, The International Symposium on Automated Cartography, Royal Geographical Society - IBG, International Conference on Social Science and Humanities, American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Association of American Geographers, Indian Geography Congress- National Association of Geographers etc.

One of her publication has also been referred in the Parliamentary Documentation.

In her spare time, Dr. Jain contributes to several national and international publications like Geography and You, Kurukshetra, Clean India, GIS India, Vector1Media.

Dr. Jain is also winner of several national and international awards and accolades. She exceled in her bachelor's winning gold medal from MLSU. She was among the top students in the National Eligibility Test for lecturership conducted independently by University Grants Commission and Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). She was also considered for SPM fellowship. She represented India in a 100 member Youth Exchange Delegation to China in 2007 led by the then Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports - Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyer. She received Young Geographers Award from National Association of Geographers, India. She was short listed to represent India in the Commonwealth Youth Forum held at Kampala, Uganda. She also received Bhamashah Award by Maharana Mewar Foundation & is a NTSE Scholar.

Examrace Social Science Faculty is headed by Dr. Manishika Jain, an eminent geographer, planner and GIS expert & psychologist. Her areas of focus include GIS and remote sensing, urban development and planning, urban finance and infrastructure, people's participation, rural-urban linkages and socio-environmental issues.
