Gujarat government will suspend mobile internet services for four hours during the clerk-level examination in Gujarat. The move is believed to prevent cheating by candidates. Independent analysis and business groups have repeatedly objected to such measures.

Key Aspects:

  • Mobile internet services will remain shut for four hours on 16th October during the clerk- level competitive examination. 
  • District collectors have been asked to ban mobile internet services between 10 AM and 2 PM on Sunday.
  • The move is to prevent use of mobile phones for cheating during written examination for the post of class IV non-Secretariat clerks and office assistants.
  • This exam conducted by Asit Vora, chairman of Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB).
  • 7.67 lakh candidates will sit for the examination for around 3,000 posts.
  • The examination will be conducted at various centres located in district headquarters in the Gujarat.
  • GSSSB earlier published Bin Sachivalay Clerk exam paper style and Syllabus.
