IBPS: RRBs Information and Prerequisites

A Common Written Examination (CWE) will be organised by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) as a pre requisite (pre-qualification) for recruitment of personnel for Group- “A” -Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group- “B” -Office Assistants (Multipurpose) posts in the Regional Rural Banks.

Steps which need to followed in the recruitment in RRBs

students who wants to join the above Regional Rural Bank either as an Officer (Scale-I, II & III) or as an Office Assistant (Multipurpose) will need to be required to qualify through the CWE.

Potential candidates who wants to appear for the CWE will have to apply to IBPS.

CWE of IBPS will qualify candidates to become eligible for recruitment. Recritment will be by each participating RRB who will issue their on and a separate recruitment notification specifying no of vacancies and quoting the eligibility criteria as desired by respective RRBs in terms of following-

  • Age
  • Quoting the eligibility criteria required by respective RRBs like proficiency in Official Language of the State or UT for which vacancy a candidate wishes to apply.
  • experience (if any)
  • Minimum required level of IBPS score in each section test plus Total Weighted Standard Score.

Qualifications

The Eligibility criteria is the general criteria for applying to various different Regional Rural Banks. Just merely applying for and qualifying in CWE does not imply that a candidate will be eligible for employment in all or any particular Regional Rural Bank as each Bank will quote its own eligibility or qualifying criteria, followed by the procedure of Interviews etc.

Age

  • For Officer Scale-III: Below 40 years
  • For Officer Scale-II: Above 21 years-Below 32 years
  • For Officer Scale-I: Above 18 years-Below 28 years
  • For Office Assistant: Between 18 years and 28 years
  • There is relaxation in upper age limit for reserved candidates: For Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe relaxation of 5 years.
  • There is relaxation in upper age limit for reserved candidates: For Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) relaxation of 3 years.

Academic Qualification and Exeperience

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

  • Degree in any subject from a well recognised University.
  • Essential: Command in local language.

Officer Scale-I

  • Degree in any subject from a well recognized University.
  • Proficiency in local language.

Officer Scale-II: General Banking Officer

  • Degree in any subject from a well recognized University with atleast 50% marks in total.
  • Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Officer Scale-II: Specialist Officers

  • Chartered Accountant: Certified Associateship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with One Year experience.
  • Marketing Officer: Post Graduate Degree in Marketing from a recognized university with One Year experience.
  • Treasury Manager: Certified Associateship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Post graduate Degree in Finance from a recognized university/institution with One Year experience.
  • Treasury Manager: Certified Associateship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Post graduate Degree in Finance from a recognized university/institution with two Year experience.

Officer Scale-III

  • Degree in any subject from a well recognized University with atleast 50% marks in total.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions.
