Books for CAT Preparation

  • Verbal Ability: In order to score well in this section, students can buy Wren and Marten to begin their preparations. A good dictionary will be prove great. You should also study good intermediate level text books on history, economics, political science, science and other subjects. Students should also read atleast two English newspapers on daily basis. Editorial section of the newspaper would also help you to enhance and polish your English skills. You can also read magazines and other books available to inculcate your vocabulary. Meanwhile group discussion and personal interviews, habit of reading newspapers and books would also prove beneficial.

CAT Study Materials

Those students who have joined any CAT coaching centers ultimately get study materials from their institutes. The study materials that are provided are prepared well, keeping in mind all the examination aspects. Students are expected to go through the study materials and even practice the model question papers provided on a regular basis. Mock tests are conducted by the institutes to evaluate the preparation status of the students. The mock test questions are prepared following the pattern of questions set in the CAT.

    Please refer, joining coaching institute or not totally depends on your personal outlook, if you feel you can maintain a pace and do self-preparation just go ahead and do. But if you feel you need constant encouragement and assessment by someone, try for a coaching institute.
