CSIR Marks Allotment for Engineering Sciences

Part A

The following part will have 20 questions of General Aptitude i.e.. Logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, quantitative comparisons, series formation, puzzles etc. Candidates need to answer any of the 15 questions. Each question will carry around 2 marks with them. Aggregate marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.

Part B

The following part will have 25 questions, which are in relation to the Mathematics and Engineering Aptitude. Candidates need to answer any of the 20 questions. Each question will carry around 3.5 marks with them. Aggregate marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200.

Part C

It contain subject related questions of 7 subject areas, they are quoted below:

  • Computer Science & Information Technology
  • Electrical Science
  • Electronics
  • Materials Science
  • Fluid Mechanics
  • Solid Mechanics
  • Thermodynamics

Every subject will carry 10 questions with them. Candidates need to answer any 20 questions out of the aggregate 70 questions. Each question will be of 5 marks and the aggregate marks allocated to this part shall be 100 out of 200.
