National Testing Agency (NTA) organizes the Single MCQ Examination (Joint CSIR – UGC Test) for Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) NET & appointment for Lecturer (NET). Council of Scientific and Industrial Research conducts the Joint CSIR UGC NET exam for determining the eligibility for JRF and Lectureship. The Council conducts the exam twice in a year – June and December.

CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

Nationality and Age Limit

  • Candidates must be an Indian National.
  • The upper age limit prescribed for JRF should be 28 years.
  • The candidates belonging to different categories, the relaxation will be provided to them.

  • 1000/- For General category candidates
  • 500/- For OBC-NCL category candidates
  • 250/- For SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) or Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates
