For an Engineering candidates, MTech is eligible to be a lecture in Engineering colleges without UGC lectureship. Also, if there is a good GATE score then there are opportunities for research. So, for an engineering graduate, NET exam may not be that necessary.

You must clear CSIR in Chemical Sciences in order to be appointed for a permanent post. You can join as Guest Faculty with PhD.

To go abroad you must clear GRE. For admissions to indian universities you can apply for GATE or CSIR. After CSIR you can go for teaching and research options. The cut off for this examination various from year to year.

First of all a heartiest congratulations to our esteemed visitor for qualifying CSIR NET JRF with this rank. After clearing JRF you will get a letter and you can join research fellowship in any research institute or university that you aim for. You will be getting a monthly stipend. In future you can work as either a researcher or lecturer.

Qualifying Criteria for Lectureship Eligibility is 65% in aggregate for general, 60% for OBC and 50% for SC⟋ST and PWD (Persons with Disabilities) . Of these who meet the qualifying criteria, top 15% candidates (for each subject and category) , from the merit list mentioned was declared qualified for eligibility for lectureship (LS) only. UGC provides a minimum of 3200 fellowships or JRF in each UGC-NET. A minimum of 27% , 15% , 7.5% and 3% of Fellowships are reserved for the OBC, SC, ST and PWD respectively.
How is JRF calculated? JRF calculation is based on the ratio of number of candidates who had opted for JRF and were qualified for LS in each subject category-wise to the total number of candidates qualified for LS who had opted for JRF in that category over all subjects multiplied by the total fellowships to be awarded to that category. The nearest whole number obtained as per this formula provides the number of slots available in any particular subject category-wise. If the number of JRF awardees obtained is less than one, it is taken as one. For JRF awardees greater than one, the figure is rounded off to the nearest whole number. Percent of all the three papers corresponding to the number of JRF awardees, is taken as the cut-off percent for awarding JRF for a particular subject category-wise.
