Preparation Tips for Paper – II (Elementary Stage Classes VI-VIII) : In this analysis, based on the past papers we have tried to bring out the focus areas and help students understand which of the sections are best for preparation and how much emphasis should be given on which topic.

Paper -1 includes following subjects

  • Child- Development & Pedagogy
  • Language I
  • Language II
  • Mathematics & Science OR Social Studies & Social Science

We will describe each section in brief how to prepare for them individually

1. Child- Development & Pedagogy - (30 questions)

  • 15 questions are from Child Development
  • 5 questions are for concepts of inclusive education and understanding children
  • 10 questions from learning and Pedagogy which is based on how children think and how they learn.

2. Language I- (30 questions)

  • 15 questions are from Comprehension like grammar and verbal
  • 15 questions from Pedagogy of Language Development

3. Language II- (30 questions)

  • 15 questions are from Comprehension like grammar and verbal
  • 15 questions from Pedagogy of Language Development.

4. Mathematics & Science- (60 questions)

(i) 30 questions are from Mathematics

  • 20 questions are related to Number System, Knowing our Numbers, Playing with Numbers, Whole Numbers, Negative Numbers and Integers, Fractions, Algebra, Introduction to Algebra, Ratio and Proportion, Geometry, Basic geometrical ideas, shapes.
  • 10 Questions are from Pedagogical issues which include Nature of Mathematics/Logical thinking, Place of Mathematics in Curriculum, Language of Mathematics, Community Mathematics, Evaluation, Remedial Teaching, Problem of Teaching

(ii) 30 questions from Science

  • 20 Questions related to Content Food, Sources of food, Components of food, Cleaning food, Materials, Materials of daily use, The World of the Living, Moving Things People and Ideas.
  • 10 Questions are from Pedagogical issues which includes Nature and Structure of Sciences, Natural Science/Aims and objectives, Understanding and Appreciating Science, Approaches/Integrated Approach

OR

5. Social Studies & Social Science- (60 questions)

(i) 40 questions are content related which includes:

  • History
  • Geography
  • Social and Political life

(ii) 20 questions based on Pedagogical issues which includes Nature and Structure of Sciences, Natural Science/Aims and objectives, Understanding and Appreciating Science, Approaches/Integrated Approach
