1998 Asian Games gold-medalist Dingko Singh included in National Boxing Selection panel (Download PDF)

1998 Asian Games gold-medallist Dingko Singh was placed in National Boxing Selection panel. At present, Dingko Singh is working as a coach at the Imphal centre of the Sports Authority of India (SAI). Arjuna awardee Gopal N Devang will be headed of the 10-member selection panel and the selection panel will remain in office till 2016.

The other members of the National Boxing Selection panel are-

  1. Padam Bahadur Mall- he won the India’s first Asian Games gold-medallist (Jakarta in 1962) who has been appointed Vice-President.
  2. Mohammad Ali Qamar- he won the India’s first Commonwealth Games gold-medallist (Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002).
  3. Manoj Pingale- he won the India’s first the Gold medal at the Junior Asian Boxing Championship in 1985 and he appointed as Joint Secretary of the panel.
