Ministry of Tourism provides financial assistance to state Govt. / UT Administrations under schemes of Swadesh Darshan, National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation & Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) & Assistance to Central Agencies for development of tourism infrastructure in country.

The Scheme of Assistance to Central Agencies for Tourism Infrastructure Development aims at developing tourism related infrastructure thru central financial assistance to Central Agencies who own assets.

  • Under PRASHAD Scheme, 26 religious cities/sites in 19 States are identified for development. It includes:

  • Amaravati & Srisailam (Andhra Pradesh)

  • Kamakhya (Assam)

  • Patna & Gaya (Bihar)

  • Dwarka & Somnath (Gujarat)

  • Gurudwara Nada Saheb (Haryana)

  • Hazratbal & Katra (J&K)

  • Deogarh (Jharkhand)

  • Chamundeshwari Devi (Karnataka)

  • Guruvayoor (Kerala)

  • Una (Himachal Pradesh)

  • Omkareshwar (MP)

  • Trimbakeshwar (Maharashtra)

  • Puri (Odisha)

  • Amritsar (Punjab)

  • Ajmer (Rajasthan)

  • Kanchipuram & Vellankani (Tamil Nadu)

  • Varanasi & Mathura (UP)

  • Badrinath & Kedarnath (U’Khand)

  • Belur (West Bengal)

  • Tribal & Rural Circuits are among 15 thematic circuits identified for development under Swadesh Darshan Scheme.

  • Projects under scheme are identified for development in consultation w/State Govt. /UT Administrations & are sanctioned subject to availability of funds, submission of suitable detailed project reports, adherence to scheme guidelines & utilization of funds released earlier.

  • Ministry has sanctioned projects under Tribal & Rural Circuit theme of Swadesh Darshan Scheme including Nagaland, Chattisgarh, Bihar & Telangana.

  • Scheme of Assistance to Central Agencies for Tourism Infrastructure Development aims at developing tourism related infrastructure thru central financial assistance to Central Agencies who own assets.
