3 It Enabled Aplications Has Been Launched by the Railway Ministry [ Current News (Concise) ]

3 IT (Information Technology) enabled apps has been launched by the Union Ministry of Railways to bring transparency in Indian Railways on the sidelines of Digital India initiative. Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu has launched this app project at through Video-Conferencing from Rail Bhawan at a function held in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Three IT enabled apps are:

Hand Held Terminals for TTEs:

It is model project of Northern Railway which has facility of updating status of passenger list of the entire train.

And according to the list food-chart/occupancy chart will be manually prepared.

Paperless unreserved ticketing mobile application:

This app will provide facility to passengers for booking unreserved tickets on many suburban and some long distance routes.

E-booking of disposable linen on trains:

This app will help passengers to gain bedroll kits through online booking and from IRCTC set up select outlets on the station.
