  • Capture geo location of the farms registered through the app
  • Sample collection by APEDA authorized Laboratories along with geo location of the sample.
  • App being launched in Hindi and Marathi apart from English

  • Agricultural exports considered low due to domestic consumption.
  • 2.2 % share in global agriculture market makes India among top 10


  • Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) established by the Government of India under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act passed in December, 1985
  • Authority replaced the Processed Food Export Promotion Council (PFEPC)

Functions of APEDA

  • Development of industries relating to the scheduled products for export by providing financial assistance, undertaking surveys and feasibility studies, participation in enquiry capital through joint ventures and other reliefs and subsidy schemes
  • Registration of persons as exporters of the scheduled products on payment of prescribed fees.
  • Fixing of standards and specifications for the scheduled products for exports.
  • Inspecting meat and meat products in slaughter houses, processing plants, storage premises, conveyances etc. for ensuring quality
  • Improving of packaging of the scheduled products
  • Improving of marketing of the scheduled products outside India
  • Promotion of export oriented production and development of the scheduled products
  • Collection of statistics from the owners of factories or establishments dealing with scheduled products
  • Training in aspects of the industries connected with the scheduled products
