Bindeshwar Pathak, the founder of sulabh international award was selected for prestigious new York global leaders dialogue humanitarian award for his contribution to sanitation and improving quality of life for millions of manual scavangers. He will be presented with this awrd in new York on 2 April 2016.

  • He was born on 2 april 1943.
  • He obtained his bachelors degree in 1964 sociology and post graduate degree in01980 and phd in 1985.
  • Bindeshwar Pathak is an Indian sociologist and is the founder of Sulabh International.
  • It is an India - based social service organization which works to endorse human rights, environmental sanitation, non - conventional sources of energy, waste management and social reforms through education.
  • His work is considered one of the innovators in social reform especially in the field of cleanliness and sanitation.

  • Bindeshwar Pathak is a Padma Bhushan addressee from the Government of India.
  • His name was added to the Global 500 Roll of Honour.
