Bunkar Mitra helpline started functioning now. The helpline is meant to extend professional expertise to distressed handloom weavers. The helpline was launched by the Union Textiles Minister Zubin Irani on the occasion of Good Governance Day.

  • Weavers can call from anywhere in India, from any number.
  • The service is available from 10.00 A.M to 06.00 P.M, on all 7 days of week.
  • Seven languages: Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada and Assamese included in service.
  • The Minister of Textiles announced “Hathkargha Samvardhan Sahayata” to meet the needs of the handloom weavers for assistance for looms and accessories on larger scale with an objective to improve quality of fabric and productivity.
