India՚s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C47 along with Cartosat-3 and 13 commercial Nano satellites (United States) will be launched by ISRO on November 25,2019 into Sun՚s-synchronous orbit. The satellite will be launched by PSLV-C47, a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle into Sun Synchronous Orbit from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

Cartosat-3 Preview

  • Cartosat-3 is having a high resolution imaging capability.
  • There are 21 flights in XL configuration and is going to be launched as the 74th launch vehicle mission From Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) , Sriharikota.
  • This is the third generation satellite which is placed in an orbit of 509km and its inclination would be 97.5 degrees.
  • The 13 commercial Nano satellites from USA are a part of commercial agreement which was signed between New Space India Limited (NSIL) .
  • The weight of nanosatellite varies from 1 to 10 kg only. Pico satellites having a weight of 100g to1 kg and less than 100g are called as Femto satellites.
  • Some important features include Panchromatic, Hyperspectral and Multispectral. Panchromatic captures all visible colors of light, Hyperspectral captures light from electromagnetic spectrum and Multispectral captures light within specific ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum.
