Details

  • The e-Office is Digital Workplace Solution that replaces physical files & documents with an efficient electronic system. Being an electronic system, it has its inherent advantages such as data is stored digitally with audit trails for every transaction being done.

  • e-Office is Mission Mode Project under National e-Governance Plan & is being implemented by Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) to improve efficiency in Government Process & Service Delivery Mechanism.

  • Regular backups & Disaster Recovery Systems are in place which ensures that Government files are not damaged in case of any mishap.

  • This being web based application; people can access it from anywhere through VPN.

E-Office System Contains Following Packages

  • File Management System (FMS)

  • Knowledge Management System (KMS)

  • E-File MIS Reports

  • Personnel Information Management System (PIMS)

  • Employee Master Details (EMD)

  • Leave Management System (LMS)

  • Leave MIS Reports

  • Tour Management System (TMS)

  • Master Data Management

Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances

  • Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) have coordinated with all Central Ministries/Departments to expedite implementation of E-office.

  • To accelerate implementation in various Ministries/Departments, various steps has been taken by Government. This includes, conducting review meetings & visiting Ministries/Departments to understand specific problems.

  • 43 Ministries/Departments are completely on e-Office platform. Department of Health Research is latest to achieve complete e-Office implementation.

  • 75 Ministries/Departments are actively using E-office platform. Ministry of AYUSH is most recent Ministry to go live one-office platform.

Main Outcomes Generated

  • Transparency & Accountability has been brought by e-office. File notes cannot be changed or undone & file cannot be kept pending as system is designed to give feedback & monitoring mechanism.

  • Quick Disposal of files & timely monitoring of pending files has been other advantage of e-office.

  • Instant file exchange: file can be received within fraction of seconds.

  • Knowledge Repository: Knowledge is wealth & using KMS (Knowledge Management System) knowledge can be preserved in centralized & easily accessible repository for employees.
