Six groups of young CEOs made presentations on themes- Make in India, Doubling Farmers’ Income, World Class Infrastructure, and Cities of Tomorrow, Reforming the Financial Sector, and New India by 2022.

Following Are Important Points of PM’s Speech:

  • People’s participation important element of governance.

  • CEOs’ partnership with Government aimed at enhancing participation towards welfare of the people, and the nation.

  • Just as Mahatma Gandhi made all Indians, soldiers for freedom, even as they continued to do their own work making the freedom struggle become a mass movement. Similarly, development too, must become a mass movement.

  • Create spirit to set targets for our contribution to India, by 2022.

  • Multi-pronged approach essential for achieving doubling of agriculture incomes like food processing and better infrastructure.

  • Decisions like gas price pooling, and remuneration for excess production etc. led to additional production of 20 lakh tonnes of urea.

  • Government wants to move towards making India a less-cash society.

  • Promote Khadi on festivals for gifting etc. to help the poor.

  • Government e-Marketplace (GeM) allows small traders to compete successfully in provision of supplies to the Government. 1000 crore rupees transacted through GeM till August 2017 with 28, 000 suppliers contributing to this platform.

  • Indians must take pride in their own country and develop a temperament to promote tourist destinations within India.

  • Promote “waste to wealth” entrepreneurs achieving Swachh Bharat and clean environment as well as personal growth.
