- On 26th March cases in the US surpass those in China and Italy thereby making US as the new epicentre of the pandemic.

- Asia recorded 284,479 cases with 10,541 deaths.
- America recorded 614,674 cases with 23,826 deaths.
- Europe recorded 813,829 cases with 73,007 deaths.
- Oceania recorded 7,569 cases with 68 deaths.
- 696 cases and 7 deaths have been reported from an international conveyance in Japan.
- By April 12,2020 over 108,000 people have died of COVID-19, with European countries accounting for over 675 of the deaths.
- In India thousands of migrant workers rushed to their villages as businesses closed.
- Many states imposed restrictions to maintain social distancing – at least half a metre gap between two persons.
- Markets in Odisha were shifted and set up in such a way that the distance between two sellers was at least 12 metres.
