The DAC of the Union Defence Minister has approved the purchase of Barak surface-to-air missiles (SAM) for the Navy among other proposals. The enhance India’s maritime capability in view of the changing security dynamics in the Indian Ocean region.

Highlights:

  • DAC also approved capital acquisition proposals worth over Rs. 860 crore.
  • The DAC, which is Defence Ministry’s highest decision-making body for capital forwarded by the Indian armed forces.
