DARPAN Portal: NITI Aayog to Register NGOs for Grant-In-Aid

It is now mandatory for all NGOs and voluntary organisations (VOs) to register with NITI Aayog to receive grant-in-aid from ministries or departments of the central government. Total number of 81,353 NGOs⟋VOs have signed up on NGO-DARPAN portal that has redesigned.

Highlights

  • The government has earmarked ₹ 150 crore for Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) in 2016 - 17 budget estimate.
  • Provision has made in the portal to capture PAN details of each entity and NGO along with PAN and Aadhar details of at least three of its office bearers and all fresh entities have to sign up on the portal with detail.
  • Exempted: NGOs and VOs belonging to Assam has exempted from such Aadhaar upload.
  • Departments have asked to develop IT applications for end-to-end processing of applications from NGOs and VOs for sanction or release of grants. All applications have to process in online mode only from March 31,2017 onwards.

  • This module has been developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC)
  • Registration process: It have the facility to apply for NGO grants online, upload all common documents required by government Ministries ⟋ Departments ⟋ Government Bodies as well as track the processing of your application until the grant is sanctioned ⟋ rejected.
  • Provision has made in the portal to capture PAN details of each entity and NGO along with PAN and Aadhar details.
  • The NGO-Partnership System (NGO-PS) Portal (NGO-DARPAN) started out as an initiative of the Prime Minister՚s Office, to create and promote a healthy partnership between VOs⟋NGOs and the Government of India.
  • NITI Aayog manages the Portal at present.
