Social and Emotional Intelligence of Elephants: Elephants have been observed to closely resemble humans in their emotional and social behaviour. It has been revealed that elephants can identify themselves which might be due to elephant’s excellent memory which can help recognise as many as 1,000 Individual elephants. Adult elephants are well capable of climbing steep hillsides while searching for their foods. Elephants also possess largest brain to body ratio. They also express emotions like mourning and dead.

  • India’s performance in Poverty and Hunger Index (103rd out of 119 Countries on the Global hunger Index) is expected to push millions of Indians into a debt and poverty trap.
  • Also the agriculture industry has suffered a massive setback both from government’s apathy and nature’s fury.
  • The government’s policies have failed to ensure a fair price to farmers who produced more, extreme weather events resulted in widespread crop loss.
  • The government is also facing the rage of middle and upper class voters who, in a slowing down economy, need money to sustain businesses and a certain lifestyle.
  • As per the reports of National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) among the rural population, those who depend on agriculture directly or indirectly consumed less. Being a proxy to gauge income level, consumption figures indicate that rural Indians didn’t earn enough even to spend on basic consumption necessities but the government of India has rejected the report.
  • China has acquired major share of manufacturing globally, India hoped to follow suit by increasing manufacturing’s share to 25 % by 2022 which would have added another 100 million jobs as per the predictions. Unfortunately manufacturing got stuck at 16.1 % of GDP, within industry that accounts for 29 % of GDP.
