National Consumers Right Day observed across India on 24 December. The day is being observed on 24 December, since the Consumer Protection Act, 1986. Effective safeguards are provided to the consumer, against various types of exploitations and unfair dealings, relying mainly on compensatory rather than a disciplinary or preventive approach under the Act.

This legislation helps to protect consumers from any kind of exploitation by availing the means for hearing and considering and finally settling disputes. This Act also stipulates the goods and service providers’ responsibilities.

  • The Right to a Healthy Environment enhances the quality of life and gives protection from environmental issues for present as well as future generations.
