Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana was launched by Prime Minister of India. This Program is for school children to increase the reach of Philately. Scholarship gives student of class VI to IX having good academic record and pursuing Philately as a hobby in this scheme.

About Deen Dayal SPARSH

  • SPARSH (Scholarship for Promotion of Aptitude & Research in Stamps as a Hobby)
  • Launched on 03rd November 2017.
  • Launched by Minister of Communications Shri Manoj Sinha.
  • This Yojana is aimed to increase the reach of Philately.

Scheme Purpose

  • To award annual scholarships to children of Standard VI to IX having good academic record and pursuing Philately as a hobby through a competitive selection process in all postal circles.

Key Details

  • Every Postal Circle will select a maximum of 40 scholarships representing 10 students.
  • Each from Standard VI to IX.
  • Amount of Scholarship will be ₹ 6000/- per annum ₹ 500/- per month.
  • This scholarship, select student from recognized school within India.
  • Concerned school should have a Philately Club and the applicant should be a member of the Club.
  • Philately is the hobby of collection and study of Postage stamps.
  • It also involves the collection, appreciation and research activities on stamps and other related philatelic products.

Selections under Deen Dayal SPARSH Scheme

  • Based on the evaluation of Project work on Philately & performance in Philately Quiz conducted by the Circles.
