Delhi Government՚s Electric Vehicle Policy

  • Delhi Chief Minister recently launched “Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy.”
  • Under the new policy, the government will waive registration fee and road tax.
  • It will also provide incentive of up to ₹ 1.5 lakh for new cars in the national capital.


  • As per Delhi CM, the policy will

  • The policy aims to increase the electric vehicles portion to 25 per cent by 2024.
  • Currently the share of electric vehicles is only 0.29 per cent in the city.
  • Now electric vehicle owners can avail low-interest loan.

    • Up to ₹ 30,000 subsidy provisioned for electric two-wheelers
    • And up to ₹ 1.5 lakh for electric car buyers.
  • The policy is a step in the right direction to encourage adoption of clean energy vehicles in the capital.
